Topeka Yoga News for Summer 2008
Welcome to the new students starting Yoga classes all over Topeka. Don't
forget to breath.
************Change is good, here's a new class, instructor change for an
established class and a new building for a school.***************
Mimi has started a Sunday evening Yoga Class
6:00pm – 7:30pm
At the Learning for Life Center
17th and Randolph
Evie is now teaching the 9:00-10:20 am Saturday morning class at
Maximus West
SOMMA (The School Of The Martial And Meditative Arts) is moving
after about 20 years in the same location. The new address is
1404 S Kansas Ave. The new building will have HEAT in the
winter!!! The air conditioner is working now!!!David's Sunday Yoga
class from 8:30-9:30 AM will be held there on July 6th. The building has
the Flag Store, Guard Sales, and Nancy Boyda's signs on it. That's the
right place. We held the last Yoga class in the old SOMMA location
today, June 29th. David taught there for 17 years so there were a few
goodbyes said to the place. Change is constant. Here's a picture of the
last class in the old DOJO.
New Yoga Studio In Town:
The Half Moon Yoga Studio has opened in north Topeka. Bobbie O'Niell is
teaching Asthanga Yoga in a "hot room". Go meet Bobbie and enjoy a class
at her studio. Don't forget to bring a towel along with your mat. Half Moon
Yoga is located at 110 NE Lyman Rd. (Kansas Ave and Lyman, 1 block south
of highway 24). See the Half Moon Yoga page on this website for more
details.
David's 2 Part Yoga Warranty
This is especially relevant for new students.
Part 1: You may sleep better than you have in a long time.
Part 2: You'll find parts of your body that you may not have known
existed or haven't felt in years, and a few sore muscles, usually a
day or two after class. If you'd like to find those parts again or
maybe explore some new ones, keep going to class.
Namaste, David
